What is a seedling?
All seedlings are bare root seedlings sourced from our friends at Cold Stream Farm. They may look small, but if you keep the roots moist until they are planted, and water frequently in a suitable spot for each species, they will grow into mighty trees and shrubs!
NRICD cannot guarantee seedlings once they leave the sale, but is happy to offer planting advice to ensure the best chance for success.
Caring For Your Seedlings
Plan to plant your seedlings as soon as possible, most ideally on a cool, rainy day.
Until you plant, please keep their roots moist and keep them in a cool area. Holes should be deep enough to avoid a bend in the seedling's root system.
Water frequently throughout the first growing season. You may wish to set up your own "nursery" where seedlings are close together for easiest care, and then move them once they have grown larger.
